Scotland

There are too many great options in Scotland to see everything in one trip. Many times, tour operators will build a trip centered around only the most recognized courses. That results in missing out on the true Scottish experience while spending hours every day in a van rather than in a pub with your friends.

We suggest picking an area (or two at most) and building an itinerary that includes some well known clubs and some hidden gems. It makes for a much more enjoyable experience and you will be surprised at just how good the lesser-know clubs will be.

INVERNESS AND THE HIGHLANDS

Rugged terrain and world class links abound here. Royal Dornoch leads the way with Castle Stuart, Nairn, Tain, Brora, and Boat of Garten all worth a visit.

FIFE AND ST. ANDREWS

Everyone should play the Old Course and Carnoustie at some point. A visit to this part of the word is magical. Crail, Elie, Leven, Lundin, Kingsbarns and Panmure should be on your list and the majestic Gleneagles is only an hour away.

AYRSHIRE COAST

What a list of links in this part of the country! Troon, Prestwick, Turnberry, Western Gailes, Machrihanish and more await one of the best locations in all of Scotland. This is a great opportunity to stay in one location to get your fill.

EAST LOTHIAN AND NORTH BERWICK

Possibly our favorite location for the full Scottish experience, you have everything one could want - from Championship venues to historically significant links, to small courses that Americans rarely visit. North Berwick, Gullane, Muirfield, Dunbar, and Musslburgh Old await the adventurous. But don’t leave out Kilspindie, the Glen, Renaissance or Luffness.

ABERDEEN AND THE MORAY COAST

A visit to Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay should be on everyone’s list. But skipping over Murcar, Fraserburgh, Cullen and the new Trump International links would be a mistake. One could fill a week here and not feel that anything had been missed.
